Greetings Community Partners and Entrepreneurs:
In May of 2000, the Rural Municipality of Woodlands Community Development Corporation was formed to help foster economic and community development. In order to assist existing business and encourage new business, a Community Works Loan Program has been introduced. The enclosed package outlines the program and offers other useful resources necessary for development. The Community Works Loan Program (CWLP) has loan pool totaling $75,000. This fund can be used to grant small business loans to a maximum of $10,000. Loans can be arranged over a maximum term of five years and must offer an interest rate below prime plus two. Loans can be used to help secure financing from traditional sources or to participate in some other business programs. The interest gained from loans is put back into the fund to assist in other projects. The objective is to create jobs and diversify our rural economy. The Community Economic Development Officer is available to assist with business plans and answer questions about the program. If you are interested in being a part of the Community Development Corporation or are interested in expanding or starting a business, please contact the Economic Development Office at 383-5679.
